“Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer” (Psalm 61:1)

All great movements of God have begun and been fueled by prayer. Metropolitan is committed to seeking God’s face for both the direction of our ministry and the meeting of our needs.

Faith Promise Missionaries

Larry Dinkins, OMF International, Thailand

In March, I attended the ICETE Conference in Albania with 500 theologians and educators, focusing on oral storytelling. I also spent 8 days in Shanghai, where I preached, taught three Perspectives lessons, and led a Walk Thru the Bible session (expecting 30, but 100 showed up!). I had the privilege of visiting James Hudson Taylor’s memorial and witnessing the vast spiritual need in China. Southeast Asia faced natural disasters, including the earthquake in Burma, which has claimed over 3,000 lives. Romans 8 and Hebrews 12 remind us of God’s unshakable kingdom amidst this turmoil. On vacation in Thailand, I unexpectedly ended up preaching when the pastor fell ill. Praise God for the ministry opportunities, Michelle’s positive response to infusion therapy, the completion of the Thai keyword set, and the new Media Room at CTS. Please pray for the ongoing aftermath of the earthquake and the spiritual needs in the region.

Abel & Sarah Miller, Ethnos360, Tanzania (East Africa)

Things are tight right now. We’ve been without stable water for a month and had to install a costly underground tank to catch city water. Both vehicles are having issues, and with a lot of upcoming travel, it’s discouraging. I have a long trip starting Sunday to transport pastors, and I’m praying the truck holds up. Leaving the family with uncertain transportation, water, and electricity adds to the stress, but we’re trusting God. Life here feels difficult—many missionaries have better resources, and our support is low. School costs are high, and racism is a real issue, as we’re seen as privileged despite having much less than local families. I’m struggling with contentment, but God’s reminder is that He is preparing us, just as He prepared Abraham. We were made to depend on Him, and I pray for wisdom and faithfulness through it all. Please pray that my heart will be tuned to God’s will.

Cami & Larry Robbins, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Central African Republic

We are incredibly grateful for your prayers during this challenging health journey. While Larry’s back pain and neuropathy have improved, his muscle weakness has worsened since September, and by January, he could no longer drive. We’re seeing doctors, trying exercises, and praying for God to restore his strength. I recently traveled to Senegal for a training workshop, as Larry couldn’t join me. Thankfully, he was well cared for at home and did great while I was away. I’m grateful for technology, which allows me to coach and mentor people in trauma healing worldwide. We also need to replace our old Camry, as it’s become difficult for Larry to get out of the passenger seat, so please pray for us as we search for a new car. Our daughter, Cara, continues to excel as an artist, and our son, Caleb, is busy as a youth pastor and with Pioneer Bible Translators. We are thankful for our five grandchildren and the joy they bring. Thank you for your faithful prayers and support!

Chris & Laurie Goree, Apollos Training, International

We are honored to partner with Albanian missionaries Afrim and Lavdi, leading a multi-week online course for Albanian Christian leaders and wrapping up the final session in person after we arrive. Laurie and Lavdi, friends since seminary, will meet in person for the first time! Please pray that our training will encourage these leaders as they serve in a challenging context. Afterward, we’ll attend the ICETE Consultation, connecting with global colleagues focused on equipping the church through biblical and theological education. This will be a time to share resources, develop strategies, and explore ways to strengthen the Global Church. We’re also excited that Apollos Training International will be introduced as new Associate Members of ICETE! Please pray for joy-filled interactions and the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our conversations and plans.

Vasily & Lena Dmitrievsky, e3 Partners, Russia

In ministry, it’s easy to get so busy that we forget why we do what we do, relying on our own abilities instead of staying connected to Jesus. But as He teaches in John 15:5, apart from Him, we can accomplish nothing. That’s why this month; we focused on strengthening our foundation in God’s Word and deepening our fellowship with Jesus and other believers. Next week, Lena and I will travel to Belgium and France, where she will teach a seminar on developing a discerning heart for women, and I will train others in sharing the Gospel and leading Bible studies that foster spiritual growth. We’ll also discuss how discipleship should cultivate love, unity, forgiveness, grace, and mercy so that believers become bridges to faith rather than roadblocks. This month’s meetings, conferences, and gatherings have greatly encouraged us through fellowship and prayer, and we deeply appreciate your prayers as we prepare for this trip. Our goal this year is to equip more Russian-speaking leaders in Europe to evangelize and disciple the millions of Russian-speaking immigrants and refugees seeking to start new churches. We are honored to be part of this mission!
